The randomweb application has been fixed. A server upgrade caused it to malfunction, after a little debugging, everything is ok. I've filtered the results to include only websites, and not any PDF, PPT or Office files that normally take a long time to download. The Firefox Toolbar needs to be updated for Firefox 3, and there are some other fixes and enhancements due for the website, including a new design. These are on the "to-do" list and will be completed at some point -- hopefully sooner than later.

I made a new application: Random Earth. It simply finds random places in the world, using Google maps. Select a region and zoom level, and it'll return a satellite image of the area. The number of regions available is fairly small right now, but you can enter your own coordinates to restrict your area to a certain region -- or email me coordinates of an area you want included in the application.

A new search tool has been added! This page shows the last 25 images uploaded to Livejournal.com. Livejournal provides a live feed of the latest pictures uploaded to their site, but be warned that anything can be uploaded to their site, and so some pictures may not be safe for work.

A new year, a new update. The region and custom options have been combined into one tool, so users can select a country or language and a custom word in their searches. The Google key field has been removed, as Google is no longer supporting new users for this API, however Mangle will continue to function as it did before.

A new Browser Toolbar has been released! This update adds some search engines to the list, compatibility for Firefox 2.0 and fixes the bugs that caused Firefox to crash when installed with certain other toolbars. Download it here!

Finally a big thanks to Michael Bermudez who designed the new logo for Mangle. Michael has a talent for designing logos and graphics, check out his site.

The random homepage and random archive databases have been updated. The archive database was pruned of old and broken links, and the popular random homepage has also been updated. The custom and region Mangle never need updating, the links are always fresh since they use a direct link to Google's web archive.

suzaku2000 wrote in to say the random Yahoo link is once again active! It's been a few years since it's worked, but someone at Yahoo finally got around to fixing it. Just click on the Yahoo link to see a website from Yahoo's directory.

Also check out Jason's site randmoz.com. It selects a random link from the entire DMOZ open directory project, and auto updates itself so the links are never stale!
